Urban Forestry (Trees)

Trees overhanging power lines: Please contact Xcel Energy at 1-800-895-4999 to report. More info.

Trees are a major part of the City’s infrastructure, providing beauty, while supporting vital ecosystems. More than 14,000 trees on City of Arvada property have been inventoried by the City's Forestry Team. This number represents all the trees planted in Parks, Athletic Fields, City Facilities, roadways, and many of the trees located in our Open Space Areas.

Join the Arvada Tree Campaign

In October, the City will launch the Arvada Tree Campaign. Over the next eight months, we will celebrate the role trees play in supporting our vibrant community and ecosystems, while also raising awareness about the challenges our trees face, including from Emerald Ash Borer. Look for engagement opportunities and special events, as well as tips and actions you can take to plant, maintain and replace trees. It will all lead up to a celebration of Arbor Day this May and the City’s 30+1 run of recognition as a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation.
